Mother ~ Earth ~ Goddess ~ Sacred Spirituality
Mother’s Essence
The Offering
Her face is a hundred full moons in autumn,
Her radiance blazes like a thousand stars,
Dispelling the darkness of ignorance.
On her let us meditate.
~ The praise to Arya-Tara~
“Everyday Goddessing is about sharing magical techniques and sacred wisdom with other beautiful Goddess women. I believe that within every woman there is a goddess, a wise woman, beautiful, creative, powerful, with a deep soul, and that everything we need and are looking for is already inside each of us.” ~ Rose Arizmendi
A great film asking the tough questions about what’s wrong with our world, and what we can do to change it. Written & directed by: Tom Shadyac

“Every moment and every event of every man’s life on earth plants something in his soul. For just as the wind carries thousands of winged seeds so each moment brings with it germs of spiritual vitality that come to rest imperceptibly in the minds and wills of men. Most of these unnumbered seeds perish and are lost, because men are not prepared to receive them: for such seeds as these cannot spring up anywhere except in the good soil of freedom, spontaneity, and love.” ~ Thomas Merton

I found these small gifts tucked safely away in my coat pocket ~ Gift’s from earth, sky and sea. A feather caught in my hair on one of my walks ~An Oak leaf with a tiny acorn from a favorite tree and a small treasure from my last visit to the ocean.
Later, as I was cleaning out an antique chest of drawers , I decided to try and find some information on the unusual drawer pulls. The only info I found was very limited. ~ Sigh . .
Aunt Margie purchased it at a garage sale in New York in the early 40’s. Apparently, it had been painted over with several layers of bright green paint. Imagine her surprise to find cherry wood underneath all that paint.
Over the years, this old chest has become like an old friend with it’s worn edges and Victorian Green Man faces staring out from each drawer like little guardians protecting hidden treasures tucked away inside. Such beauty & craftsmanship!
Autumn ~ So Peaceful ~ Mother Nature ~ Winding Down ~ A touch of frost in the air.
Before I go, here is a sweet little video I found on You tube.
Autumn, and the lure of the season. A dance film working around poetry.
October Days
“Come said the wind to
the leaves one day,
Come o’re the meadows
and we will play.
Put on your dresses
scarlet and gold,
For summer is gone
and the days grow cold.” ~

The May Queen is Waiting
“The new earth quickens as you rise.
The May Queen is waiting.
Feel the pulsing ground call you to journey,
To know the depths of your desire.
The May Queen is waiting.
Moving through the night, the bright moon’s flight.
In green and silver on the plain.
She waits for you to return again.
Do not keep Her waiting.
Her temper stings if you refuse to taste Her honey.
Surrender as enchantment brings
The first light of dawning.
Move with Her in sacred dance, through fear to feeling.
Bringing ecstasy to those who dare.
Living earth is breathing.
Loving through the night in the bright moonlight,
As seedlings open with the rain.
She’ll long for you to return again.
Do not keep Her waiting.”
– Ruth Barren
From the moment we are born we are blessed with the life-giving power of air. We breathe her in and she sustains us and every living thing around us. Air also serves as a sacred messenger delivering information to all beings of the Earth.
The spirit of Gaia communicates with us through the air. Ask her a question about your life. Listen and feel her gentle breath flow around you and wait for sign, message or answer. Quietly observe everything around you. Be attentive to the feelings and perceptions that may ebb and flow through you.
When was the last time you reached out and touched the wind?
“Air is a matrix that joins all life together. . . . In everyday life we absorb atoms from the air that were once part of birds and trees and snakes and worms, because all aerobic forms of life share that same air. . . . The longer each of us lives, the greater likelihood that we will absorb atoms that were once part of Joan of Arc and Jesus Christ, of Neanderthal people and wooly mammoths. As we have breathed in our forebears, so our grandchildren and their grandchildren will take us in with their breath.” – David Suzuki
