Yesterday, a friend invited me out to lunch at our favorite cafe. When I arrived, she was already there and had created sacred space for our little get together. There was a lovely candle surrounded by a small crystal, a heart shaped stone, yummy homemade brownies and her beautiful Angel cards.
What a beautiful … thoughtful thing to do.
I am filled with gratitude to have such friends~ sharing stories ~ laughter and joy

We the people of the world need to heal our relationship with our mother earth as well as one another. And we must also carry this message of love with an opened heart to the four corners of the earth. Blessings, Rose
“Those of us who consider ourselves to be somehow involved in the birthing of a new age, should discover Gaia as well. The idea of Gaia may facilitate the task of converting destructive human activities to constructive and cooperative behavior. It is an idea which deeply startles us, and in the process, may help us as a species to make the necessary jump to planetary awareness.”
– James Lovelock
“Everyday Goddessing is about sharing magical techniques and sacred wisdom with other beautiful Goddess women. I believe that within every woman there is a goddess, a wise woman, beautiful, creative, powerful, with a deep soul, and that everything we need and are looking for is already inside each of us.” – Rose Arizmendi
Something beautiful and uplifting for a chilly, cloudy Friday.
The Secret ~ Planet Earth
As each day passes my art work area gets messier. So today, I decided to clean and rearrange everything and now all of my acrylic paint tubes and brushes are in their proper places and everything is ready to go.
I have two paintings I need to finish so they can be hung in a local shop and I know I should be working on them, but there are other things that need to be done.
Meanwhile, outside my window clouds are gathering and the promise of rain is in the air.
Before I go I will leave you with this poem by David Whyte;
Sweet Darkness
When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.
Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.
There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your womb
tonight.
The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.
You must learn one thing:
the world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.

I love everything there is about the woods near our home ~ the sky, the trees, the bubbling creek nearby and the light falling through the branches.
Such beauty ~ magical ~ suspended all around me.

on the surface of mystery” . . .

Here are some photos I would like to share with you from my morning walk in the woods. The landscape so quiet and tranquil, with tree leaves vibrant with color like stained glass windows filtering the autumn light.
Precious moments ~ serene ~ my church in the woods.
Looking up into the clouds overhead immersing myself in the wonders of the natural world. The warmth of the sun penetrates me as I reach to embrace the sky. The earth is my mother, my home, my teacher
quote for the day;
“I, the song
I walk here.”

Happy Halloween everyone!
Today, I spent some time reflecting and remembering friends and family who have passed on.
Memories ~ Sweet as well as bitter sweet ~ Sadness and Joy ~ Mostly love & gratitude.
Later, I went for a walk and let the land, sky and water cleanse me.

The Faery Ride
Forget the hearth,
Forget the roof,
Set the wheel aside:
Leave your weaving,
Warp and woof,
Steal out to us this Samhain – Tide.
Steal out to us, out tossing hair
Sets sun and moon and stars a flare.
The racing winds are hounds beside
The cloud-maned horses that we ride.
Come ride with us, have heart to dare
The plunging steed; the steeps of air;
The swirling, high, tumultuous flight,
The aery hooves ~ this Samhain Night!

I spent the afternoon at the Gem Faire picking up supplies that I needed. I always feel a little overwhelmed by all the bright lights and glittering beads ~ so much to see! When we exited the building there was a fine mist of rain falling ~ it felt refreshing and helped revive my energy.
Dusk, ever so softly draping itself over the landscape ~ remnants of a day evaporating ~ Stillness ~ Listening with my heart.
And before I leave, here’s an inspirational video I found on YouTube. ~ Blessings to all!
“Each woman has potential access to Rio Abajo Rio, this river beneath the river. She arrives there through deep meditation, dance, writing, painting, prayer making, singing, drumming, active imagination, or any activity which requires an intense altered consciousness. A woman arrives in this world-between worlds through yearning and by seeking something she can see just out of the corner of her eye. She arrives there by deeply creative acts, through intentional solitude, and by practice of any of the arts. And even with these well-crafted practices, much of what occurs in this ineffable world remains forever mysterious to us, for it breaks physical laws and rational laws as we know them. ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. ~ From her wonderful book, Women Who Run With the Wolves.
