My Dear Friend & Me

To me, sharing a cup of tea or coffee with friends means warmth, comfort and great conversation.

Yesterday I had coffee with Elvira  and our conversation was mostly about friendship, everyday goddessing and sacred woo-woo. We had such a great time even though the weather was overcast and chilly. Next time,  I have to try the french toast extravaganza that Elvira had. Yummy!

This morning over tea with another friend, our conversation turned to the economy, the environment and the planet’s diminishing water supply. We also shared our  family stories, goals and hopes for the near future.

“Let us sit my friend and share a cup of tea
And talk of our dreams and the faraway places we want to see.
Let us dream together and explore all of life’s mysteries.
Just the two of us
my dear friend and me.” – Rose Arizmendi

Global Prayer Effort

Today,  I received an email from the beautiful goddess Salina about the global effort being made to help heal the living waters of our planet. Mother Gaia needs all the help she can receive because there is so much going on in the world right now, especially with the unfortunate oil spill in the Gulf and the pollution from Iceland’s volcano.

A Mother’s Day Message

On Mothers Day, I received a beautiful phone message from a dear friend and it was so heartfelt and nurturing it made me cry. It made me realize how different our lives could be if everyone received a message like this on a daily basis or even weekly. … How about a great big phone hug or email hug a day?

In all of us there is a deep human need to be recognized, nurtured and loved for who we are. It doesn’t matter how successful, self confident or self aware we are, we all need a little love and nurturing at times. Like the song says,  “All we need is Love!”

So today, I made a few phone calls and sent a couple of emails to some really beautiful, soulful people in my life whom I thought might need a little unconditional love, understanding and positive energy .

My promise to myself is to make every effort to spend more time communicating with those I love and care about, who are important to me, who enrich my life and nurture my goddess within.

P.S. My heart fills up with love and gratitude when I think of all you beautiful everyday goddesses who share your stories, wisdom, laughter, joy, creativity and inspiration with me on a daily basis. I want to say thank you so much for your support and feedback.

Space Clearing

For the past couple of days, space clearing has been at the top of my list of things I needed to get done this week. The energy in our home was beginning to feel a little stagnant and less than harmonious .

Any time I start  feeling unusually tired, frazzled or more out of sorts than normal,  I know it’s time to clear out the old negative energies that have accumulated and get some positive energy flowing around the space I call home.

I decided this morning was the perfect time to get started. I began by physically cleaning our house and then started clearing out the clutter that has accumulated and piled up over the past week.

Now it was time for the fun part of space clearing.

I began smudging the whole house with luscious white sage, and then moved on to playing my Tibetan bowls which really gets the energy moving. You can also use bells or simply clap your hands anywhere you sense stagnate energy. To locate any other unwanted energies in your home you can use a pendulum or dowsing rods.

The bedroom, one of the most important rooms in the house is where we sleep, dream,  receive healing and messages from our spirit guides.  A good place for practicing good Feng Shui.  Some quick cures for a bedroom are  soothing colors to create balance, plenty of fresh air, and several levels of lighting. Things that destroy good Feng Shui energy in a bedroom are computers and televisions. You may also use chimes, bells or a crystal tuner to clear your bedroom of any distracting energies.

If you experience disturbing dreams or nightmares, you may find it helpful to change the sheets on your bed the next morning, it helps to shift the energy. A beautiful sage woman gave me this tip years ago and I find it works for me.Thank goodness I don’t have these dreams very often. One of my favorite bedtime rituals is to lightly spray lavender water over my pillow just before going to sleep. Lavender or sage water is great for clearing and may be used instead of incense.

Make sure to tidy up any sacred altars you might have as these are all about spirit and the beautiful healing work you do. Your home is your sanctuary and as such, it’s important to love the things you have around you. Clear away anything that does not feed your spirit and soul, and strive to create a harmonious and supportive energy field where your beautiful lovely goddess self can thrive.

And now, last but not least, Himalayan salt lamps are an amazing generator of negative ions and fill your home with fabulous healing energy. I heard all kinds of stories about how salt rocks restore your energy, enhance relaxation, and promote healing. When we brought our first one home years ago I was amazed at how well it worked and we decided to get another one for our bedroom. When we come home and open the front door the first thing that greets us is the glowing warm amber colors of our salt lamp, we love the tranquil, peaceful energy it creates in our home.

So I send a big hug and greetings to all you beautiful goddesses out there creating sacred space for each other filled with joy, creativity, inspiration, laughter, healing and deep soul connections.

Balance & Perspective

It’s hard to believe that it has been three months since my last post. So much has happened since then.

Afternoon Light

Change can be very challenging at times especially when it involves residential and economic changes. We have moved out of our cute little house and will miss it sorely, especially the lovely garden we enjoyed over the past 12 years.

Although our new home is smaller, it is quieter and has many amenities that the old house didn’t have. The new place  has a dishwasher, washer & dryer and double paned windows. Love it!

Over the past few months I have chosen to view change as a beguiling invitation to a new and exciting adventure, rather than see it as a threatening and fearful situation that may get worse. One thing for sure there is always the opportunity and challenge to make things better.

Ah yes, and I give myself this pep talk every time I see the dark clouds of doubt and worry hovering on the horizon. These dark moments seem to come most often when I awake in the middle of the night and all the worries flood in, morphing into something much larger and darker than they are in the light of day.

It seems the night dresses our worst fears and worries into twisted, evil monsters which have no real substance. Thankfully, they take on a less sinister aspect once the sun comes up and our imagination isn’t in overdrive.

Balance and perspective is the key!

Quote For The Day;

‘It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. – Alan Cohen
